A Ground-Floor Clinic on Route 3 West
Our Route 3 clinic is on the ground floor of 1700 Route 3 West in Clifton, a medical office building on the westbound side of the highway, not far from Allwood Road. Because it sits right on Route 3, it is a quick trip for patients coming from Nutley, Passaic, Rutherford and Lyndhurst, and the clinic is on the ground floor. Our second Clifton clinic is at 1070 Clifton Ave., Suite 1A.
The Route 3 team provides physical, occupational and speech therapy for adults recovering from back and neck pain, sports and work injuries, arthritis, stroke and surgery. Your therapist builds the plan around what you want to get back to, whether that is a pain-free commute, a full day at work or a weekend game.
This clinic also offers Holsman's HolStep® and No Fall Protocol® balance programs, shockwave therapy for chronic tendon pain, KinesIQ balance and coordination training, and functional capacity evaluations for workers' compensation and return-to-work decisions. Holsman has been treating New Jersey patients since 2004.

Questions About Our Route 3 Clifton Clinic
What insurance does the Route 3 clinic accept?
Most patients at our Route 3 clinic are covered. We accept Medicare Part B, private PPO plans such as Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Healthcare, workers' comp (including FECA for federal employees), auto/MVA no-fault claims and VA Community Care. We verify your insurance free of charge; call 862-591-1000.
Can I start physical therapy without a referral?
Not in most cases. New Jersey's direct access law lets you start physical therapy without a prescription, but some insurance plans still require a referral or prescription to pay for it, so we check your plan before your first visit. With Medicare you can start without a referral, but your physician must certify your plan of care, and we coordinate that with your doctor.
Is this the same as the 1070 Clifton Avenue clinic?
No. Holsman has two clinics in Clifton. This one is on the ground floor at 1700 Route 3 West (862-591-1000). The other is at 1070 Clifton Ave., Suite 1A (973-246-6565). You can book at whichever is more convenient.
What happens at my first appointment?
We start with a full evaluation: your history, your goals, and tests of strength, mobility and balance. Your therapist explains the findings and starts your plan, usually with treatment the same day. Bring ID, your insurance card and any referral or prescription.
What are the Route 3 clinic's hours?
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Closed weekends.
Where do I park at 1700 Route 3 West?
The clinic is on the building's ground floor. Call 862-591-1000 and we will give you parking and entrance directions before your visit.
