Your Physical Therapy Clinic on Pompton Avenue
Our Cedar Grove clinic is at 408 Pompton Ave., on Route 23, the township's main commercial street. NJ Transit's 11 bus runs along Pompton Avenue, Mills Reservation is about a mile away, and the clinic is an easy drive for patients from Verona, Little Falls, Montclair, North Caldwell and Totowa.
Step inside and you will find an open, sunlit therapy gym and a team that includes physical therapists Dr. Harold Dela Pena and Dr. Lester Rojas and occupational therapist Paulo Jurado. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are all offered here, so one clinic can handle recovery that spans walking, daily tasks and communication.
Cedar Grove is one of three Holsman clinics with LiteGait® body-weight-supported gait training, a harness system that lets patients practice walking safely early in recovery from a stroke, surgery or a serious fall. The team also offers Holsman's HolStep® and No Fall Protocol® balance programs, shockwave therapy, KinesIQ balance training and functional capacity evaluations, and treats everything from back pain to post-surgical knees and shoulders. Holsman has been treating patients since 2004.

Questions About Our Cedar Grove Clinic
What insurance does the Cedar Grove clinic accept?
Most patients at our Cedar Grove clinic are covered. We accept Medicare Part B, private PPO plans such as Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Healthcare, workers' comp (including FECA for federal employees), auto/MVA no-fault claims and VA Community Care. We verify your insurance free of charge; call 973-433-0732.
Do I need a prescription for physical therapy in Cedar Grove?
Usually not. Under New Jersey's direct access law you can book physical therapy on your own. The exception is insurance: some plans require a referral or prescription for coverage, and we confirm that for you before you come in. Medicare patients can start without a referral; your physician certifies the plan of care, and we handle that paperwork with your doctor.
What is LiteGait and who is it for?
LiteGait is a harness system that supports part of your body weight while you practice walking, so you can work on your gait safely before you are ready to walk fully on your own. It is often used after a stroke, surgery or a fall. Your therapist will tell you at your evaluation whether it fits your plan.
What happens at my first visit?
Your therapist will review your history and goals, test your strength, flexibility and balance, and explain what is causing your symptoms. You will leave with a plan, and most patients start treatment the first day. Bring ID, your insurance card, any referral and a list of medications.
What are the Cedar Grove clinic's hours?
Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
Is the Cedar Grove clinic on a bus line?
Yes. NJ Transit's 11 bus runs along Pompton Avenue (Route 23). For parking, call 973-433-0732 and we will tell you where to park.
